welcome to breakfastwithace: food + food for thought

This message is a welcome, thank you for being here. Breakfastwithace is a simple idea. I have always enjoyed gathering with my friends and family over a large home-cooked breakfast, or meeting up at a restaurant. Once we all have our coffee and are waiting for our food to be cooked, the conversation seems to inspire me into some sort of action, whether it be some artistic creation, some political action, a new hiking trail to explore, or a spot to visit, some new recipe, or something deeper within myself that needs to be explored. Caffeine and conversation seem to always lead to something productive.

Now, I’ve often jokingly thought of myself as somewhat of a diversified specialist, meaning I know a little bit about a lot of different things (must be my ADHD). I use this website as a way to explore any creative endeavor… meaning you’ll find:

  • My photography - lots and lots of photos from nature and my travels around the United States.

  • Food content and recipes… this is, after all, breakfastwithace.

  • My innermost thoughts and feelings about our world and, yes, sometimes politics - Click on “Midnight Musings of a Mountain Witch”, above.

  • Tips and tricks for gardening and cooking in the time of the millennial homestead.

  • And much, much, more!

My husband and I, and our two dogs, love to get out and explore. I have traveled to 30 National Parks and have walked along countless miles of hiking trails. We love to camp, canoe, backpack, road trip, and just generally get out and enjoy nature.
